Types of Advising Appointments

Advising Walk In Appointments

 A College of General Studies advisor is available daily from Noon – 2 p.m. for walk-in sessions or phone inquiries.

Monday and Tuesday: CGS Students Only 

Wednesday and Thursday: Pitt (non CGS) Students Only

These 15 minute appointments are first come, first serve. These sessions are good for quick reviews of academic progress, brief program questions or for students from another school wanting to inquire about a major or certificate. 

Note: You cannot have your advising hold lifted during a walk-in appointment.


Individual Advising Appointments

Make an individual appointment with an advisor if you have questions pertaining to the following issues: major or minor issues, internships, academic holds, personal issues, add/drop/withdraw/resignation decisions, graduation review, career planning .

Regular business hours are Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., and Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
