His experiences included the US Golf Association, where he was a communications intern and worked the 2014 US Women’s Open. He performed player media requests and assisted in press conferences and updating social media. Brady also spent a semester working for the Pittsburgh Steelers as a public relations intern. He served as a press conference assistant who produced transcriptions from coaches and draft picks. He also worked in the Heinz Field press box on game days to provide set-up and prepare for post-game press conferences.
Brady also had the opportunity to intern with the Pittsburgh Penguins in media relations. He wrote game notes and provided content to local and national media outlets, in addition to compiling player game statistics and sound bites for media release. During his junior and senior years at Pitt, Brady worked with Pitt Athletics in media relations. He worked on the annual football game program to provide editorial content, maintained athlete profiles on the Pitt Athletics website as well as live tweeted for Pitt football, basketball and baseball games.
Post graduation, Brady planned to work in sports PR and ideally in a sports agency or management firm. As Brady completed his undergraduate degree, he reflected on his experiences and opportunities and found it important to network with as many people as possible. He also imparts to students to enjoy their time at Pitt because it goes faster than you imagine.
